Does Invisalign® Hurt?
- Posted on: Jul 11 2014
Correcting crooked teeth used to mean getting metal braces and then enduring all of the adjustments, food restrictions, and discomfort that went along with it. But for many Philadelphia patients, Invisalign® has changed all of that.
Invisalign® is a comfortable and convenient solution for straightening your teeth. As an experienced provider of this alternative to braces, Dr. Lindsey Marshall has helped many patients achieve their ideal smile with this advanced orthodontic system.
Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign uses a series of aligner trays that are easily removable. You and will only need to wear them for about 22 hours a day, and they can be easily removed to eat, brush, floss, and more.
Each tray is slightly different than the next to advance your orthodontic treatment. Once you’ve worn an aligner for two weeks, you’ll discard it and start using a new one. After about a year, your teeth will have moved into their final, straightened positions.
Invisalign® is designed to be significantly more patient-friendly than braces. While you might notice some minor pressure or discomfort when you begin wearing your aligners, at no point should you experience any pain.
To learn how Invisalign® can improve your smile comfortably and with minimal disruption to your busy lifestyle, please contact Lindsey Marshall, DMD, today at (610) 649-0696 to schedule an appointment. Dr. Marshall serves patients throughout the greater Philadelphia area.
