How Long Does Invisalign Take?
- Posted on: Nov 12 2013
Invisalign® has a treatment length comparable to that of metal braces. Depending on your unique case, your Invisalign treatment could take anywhere between 6 months or a couple of years to complete. Severe bite problems and tooth crookedness tends to require more time.
As you and Dr. Lindsey Marshall plan your Invisalign® treatment, she will determine how long your treatment will take. The length of your treatment depends on wearing the aligners as instructed. Unlike metal braces, Invisalign puts the patient in control of much of the treatment. If you do not wear the aligners for the required 20-22 hours a day, then your Invisalign treatment may not be completed on time. You need to wear your aligners most of the time, and Dr. Marshall will let you know when to take them out, including each time you brush and floss.
Although most Invisalign cases fall within 6 months to 2 years, the only way to know how long it will take, and if you are a candidate for Invisalign, is to visit Dr. Marshall. She has helped many of our patients achieve healthy, beautiful smiles with Invisalign, and she can tell you whether this treatment or another will let you have the smile you’ve always wanted.
If you are wondering if you are a good candidate for Invisalign, please contact Lindsey Marshall, DMD, to schedule a consultation with our experienced Philadelphia Invisalign dentist.
