How Does it Feel to Get Porcelain Veneers?
- Posted on: May 1 2013
Porcelain veneers are excellent options if you want a safe, simple procedure that can address many of your smile complaints.
Of the many porcelain veneer questions our patients have, one of the most common is, “How do they feel?” After all, it’s nice to have a good-looking smile, but if your porcelain veneers feel awkward and uncomfortable then you’ll constantly be aware of them, which is not an ideal situation. Fortunately, porcelain veneers are neither awkward nor uncomfortable.
Many patients are able to get porcelain veneers without any anesthesia necessary. Whether or not you require anesthesia will be determined by Dr. Marshall after she evaluates the severity of your condition to be addressed. Generally speaking the porcelain veneer procedure causes very little pain or discomfort.
After the procedure, your porcelain veneers are almost completely indistinguishable from your natural tooth enamel, both in look and feel. When you run your tongue over your teeth you will not be able to tell the difference between your enamel and your porcelain veneers.
If you’re a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania resident considering porcelain veneers, please contact Dr. Lindsey Marshall, DMD, to arrange a consultation.
